Artificial Intelligence vs Human Intelligence | Will Artificial Intelligence Replace Human Beings

Artificial Intelligence vs Human Intelligence

Digitization is augmenting human strength and interrupting inevitable eons-old human activities. The so-called human-kinda robots with artificial intelligence have been a hot topic for much dystopian fiction. Whether on the big screen in sci-fi movies or the small world of cartoons and anime characters, we’ve all witnessed & enjoyed the plot unfold as the AI-driven robotic creatures gradually take over the human race. However, in the end, human capabilities always win. But, we cannot be so sure about the outcome of “will artificial intelligence replace human beings or take over human jobs”?

With the advent of artificial intelligence (AI), a new series of controversies has been started, and of course, the topic is pretty debatable. From a common man to world-famous scientists and former Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, Stephan Hawking, everyone is concerned about the kind of negative effects AI will have on the society. As it always happens, everything has two sides and the same goes with artificial intelligence. So, some people are concerned about the negative effects it may have while others are trying to convince a group of scared humans with a bunch of ‘Google-oriented’ facts. So, it’s better to gauge through some popular comments on the advent of future-proof technology with unimaginable advantages.

I visualize a time when we will be to robots what dogs are to humans, and I’m rooting for the machines.” —Claude Shannon

I’m increasingly inclined to think that there should be some regulatory oversight, maybe at the national and international level, just to make sure that we don’t do something very foolish. I mean with artificial intelligence we’re summoning the demon.” —Elon Musk

The real question is, when will we draft an artificial intelligence bill of rights? What will that consist of? And who will get to decide that?” —Gray Scott

The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race….It would take off on its own, and re-design itself at an ever-increasing rate. Humans, who are limited by slow biological evolution, couldn't compete, and would be superseded.”— Stephen Hawking

Artificial intelligence will reach human levels by around 2029. Follow that out further to, say, 2045, we will have multiplied the intelligence, the human biological machine intelligence of our civilization a billion-fold.” —Ray Kurzweil

So, what is common in these quotes about artificial intelligence? Of course, all the above mentioned are famous personalities and some of them have phrased it as a boon or some are concerned about society. But, we’ve invented artificial intelligence, human intelligence has no boundaries and the advent of artificial intelligence is an example of it. The all-knowing, all-pervasive, and almost all-powerful attributes of artificial intelligence have been put into question again and again. If we talk about the future possibilities of this technology, we cannot find it different to the myth of King Aegeus. However, we know why Theseus didn’t change the sail, but AI is much harder than any Greek mythology. There is just one question that we are facing, again and again, it seems we’ve been laced with it, and that it — Will Artificial Intelligence Replace Human Beings? What would be the future of the human race after AI?

So, today’s scientists are harnessing artificial intelligence to perform tasks that vary from trivial to monumental. Whether we talk about a high-quality picture with AI-based mobile cameras or self-driving cars, AI has really improved human life, but the picture gets changed when turning towards financial asset management, inventory management, and other management jobs. Anyways, we will discuss 5 reasons why Artificial Intelligence will not replace human beings and how it will enhance our capabilities to make us superhuman.

5 reasons why Artificial Intelligence will not replace human beings

1. AI Takes Over Our Repetitive Tasks

There are plenty of monotonous tasks for our job.

For example, take inventory management. A manager’s job is to order, store, and maintain a smooth flow of a company's inventory. These include the management of raw materials, components, and finished products, as well as warehousing and processing such items.

It’s really time-consuming and boring as well. Though the data calculation can be in second through data science, that also runs on AI-based algorithms. AI can easily handle repetitive inventory management and other tasks. There is an inventory management software in the market that also works in AI-based theory. So, AI will of course help humans in handling monotonous tasks.

2. Artificial Intelligence is Smart But Not Creative

AI-enabled software & services can be smart, but not creative though. It runs on an industry-specific algorithm that depends on the services that a company provides and its policies. Take an example of AI-based healthcare software.

It scans a million psychology textbooks, articles, and research in seconds then tells you all symptoms & treatment of depression. But it cannot do exactly what human intelligence can. A human can read your face and tell you exactly what kind of depression you have and will provide the right treatment as well.

This is what we called emotional intelligence, which Artificial Intelligence can probably not understand because there are over 1000 types of emotions. Our nimbleness to react instantly right after an incident in a very creative way is unbeatable by any technology unless it includes human intelligence.

3. AI Improves Our Performance By Making Us Superhuman

Take sales, as an example. Selling is an art that requires incredible excellency to do well. It is perhaps the most basic directive of marketing and it's a human function that you inherit from a human only. No developer can ever design an AI-based software that can understand the cleverness of humans that is, of course, an essential part of sales.

4. AI Will Bring More Jobs Through the Industrial Revolution

Artificial Intelligence is anticipated to bring more & more opportunities as it will unlock hidden potential & strength of the organization to improve their services and expand their venture.

Who could have anticipated that a breed of converted social media called social media marketers would create a $51 billion industry leveraging revenue from social media platforms?

Social media jobs were almost ‘Zero’ 10 years ago. Today social media managers are earning more than six figures, in comparison to technology experts. This is what AI has brought to us. Artificial Intelligence has already improved healthcare as demographic trends and most AI-enabled robots are taking over menial & monotonous tasks where human existence was almost nothing.

5. AI Can Ease Healthcare’s Major Challenges

Did you see the "Black Panther" movie? In which Vibranium powered artificial intelligence solutions are so common & effective that even a gunshot to the spine takes just a day to heal. So, you might think AI will provide a cure for the novel coronavirus COVID-19 soon. Well, that’s just a fantasy, so hold your breath and better opt for yoga & meditation. Here are some free yoga & meditation applications that can help you amid pandemic.

The Healthcare industry has always been at the forefront of technology to find a way to tackle the major challenges of the healthcare industry. Whether it's about patient health records or providing quality patient care, healthcare providers are doing well because of AI. But, we won’t get instant solutions because it lacks the creativity that sparks in human genes.

So, this is something that we originally drafted while stating facts about Artificial Intelligence vs Human Intelligence. AI is somewhere helpful to us and, of course, it won’t take over our jobs or end the human race. However, it depends on how your organization differentiates yourself with your strength & technology.
