Specs Comparison: OnePlus Nord vs iPhone SE 2020 vs Xiaomi Poco X2

OnePlus Nord vs iPhone SE (2020) vs Xiaomi Poco X2

After weeks of teasing and rumors, the OnePlus Nord 5G has finally out in full. Leading smartphone company OnePlus may want to attract as much as customers with this feature-rich mid-range smartphone. From six cameras in total to a 90Hz refresh rate Fluid AMOLED display, 5G support, and more, this price-sensitive smartphone may affect anti-China sentiments fueled after the Indo-China border clash.

With a range of features & an affordable price segment, the OnePlus Nord 5G has got some tough competition with other mid-range smartphones of dominating markets, most notably the iPhone SE 2020, and Xiaomi Poco X2.

Apple’s first real mid-range handset iPhone SE 2020 has already hit the market, with the Apple name behind it. Other than its appealing design, there are lots of other features, including powerful  A13 Bionic Chip, and lightweight design - it is anticipated to be a major rival of OnePlus Nord.

Xiaomi Nord X2 is also on the list of the major alternatives to this flagship OnePlus Nord 5G. Other than design & display size, these phones are also very different from each other when it comes to features. Below you’ll check a comparison draft of OnePlus Nord, iPhone SE 2020, and Xiaomi Poco X2. We have mentioned all the similarities and differences along with prices and other features, so you can make a perfect decision.

OnePlus Nord vs iPhone Se (2020) vs Xiaomi Poco X2: Price & Availability

The OnePlus Nord is finally out in India on July 21. It costs $334 / INR 24,999 for a model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while a version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will set you back $401 / INR 29,999. Pre-booking of this budget-friendly smartphone is available on Amazon at INR 4999.

The iPhone SE (2020) on the other hand is already in the market and starts at $399 / INR 29,790. That’s for a model with 64GB of storage and as those prices suggest, it’s available in the US, the UK, and India.

If you want more storage, you can also get the iPhone SE (2020) with 128GB for $449 / £469 / INR 33, 523, or with 256GB for $549 / £569 / INR 40,989.

Xiaomi Poco X2 is also out in the market and starts at $227 / 16,999. It was launched in two 128Gb and 256GB variants. With an IR blaster and P2i coating, Xiaomi  Poco X2 is available at $375 / INR 27,999.

So, the OnePlus may start with a tough competition in India, where anti-China sentiments are too high after the India-China border clash. Here is what is best among OnePlus Nord, iPhone SE 2020, and Xiaomi X2 Poco and why should you go after?

OnePlus Nord vs iPhone Se 2020 vs Xiaomi Poco 2 Design

The OnePLus Nord has got a back glass in Blue Marble or Grey Onyx shades, with a camera block on the top left side, giving an appealing look of iPhone XR. Now, flip it over and you will find basically nothing but the screen is what designed the quality of OnePlus- the bezels are small but it isn’t bezel-less display and the dual-lens front-facing camera placed in a cut-out on the top-left corner.

The Xiaomi Poco X2 there has a Glass-Metal sandwich design with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. With its dual punch hole camera on the back, Xiaomi tried to bind its users with back & front gorilla glass 5 protection.

The iPhone SE (2020) meanwhile, has a glass back in black, white, or red, with a much smaller single-lens camera in the top left corner of the rear. The front has large bezels above and below the screen, with the front-facing camera housed in the upper bezel, and a home button (which doubles as a fingerprint scanner) in the lower one.

Both iPhone Se (2020) and Poco X2 together have less modern design than OnePlus Nord. However, it’s recently designed and launched with all the latest features and technologies. The Poco X2 is just 165.3mm x 76.6mm x 8.79mm and 208g, on the other hand, iPhone SE (2020) is just 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3mm and 148g, while the OnePlus Nord is 158.3 x 73.3 x 8.2mm and 184g. Apparently, the Nord is way bigger than iPhone SE and lightweight than Xiaomi Poco X2.

Display Comparison

The main reason why OnePlus is popular among customers is its outstanding design & display quality. Also, the biggest competition between OnePlus Nord, iPhone SE, and Xiaomi Poco X2 is the display size & type.

The Nord’s display is a 1080 x 2400 Fluid AMOLED one with a pixel density of 408 pixels per inch, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate.

The iPhone SE (2020) on the other hand has a 750 x 1334 IPS LCD screen with a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a 60Hz refresh rate.

The Xiaomi Poco X2 meanwhile, has a 1080 x 2400 full HD+ with HDR10 playback and 120Hz refresh rate. 20:9 is perfectly designed to serve the needs of pro gamers.

So as well as being smaller it’s less crisp and likely to feel less smooth in operation, due to the lower refresh rate.

OnePlus Nord vs iPhone SE (2020) vs Xiaomi Poco X2: Camera Features

There is a notable difference between the camera of these three phones. Not least because you will get a whole more lens with the OnePlus Nord while iPhone SE will only have one and Poco X2 comes up with a total of 6 lenses front & back.

Starting with those rear lenses, there’s a 48MP f/1.75 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), and that’s joined by an 8MP f/2.25 ultra-wide one, a 2MP f/2.4 macro one, and a 5MP f/2.4 depth one. On the front meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord has a 32MP f/2.45 main camera and an 8MP f./2.45 ultra-wide one.

The iPhone SE (2020) on the other hand has just a 12MP f/1.8 snapper with OIS on the back, and a 7MP f/2.2 camera on the front. And, Xiaomi Poco X2 meanwhile has a 64MP main camera with a 2MP depth sensor, 8MP ultrawide lens, and 2MP macro lens, which makes it deliver a quad-camera segment. On the other hand, you will get a 20+2MP dual punch hole camera with a primary sensor on the front.

Whole OnePlus Nord seems to lose its trail here compared to Xiaomi Poco X2, but OnePlus knows to serve the market differently, therefore, it will compare in practice.

OnePlus Nord vs iPhone Se (2020) vs Xiaomi Poco X2: Battery Comparison

The OnePlus Nord has a 4,115mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging, which the company promises will get it from empty to 70% full in half an hour. On the other hand, Poco X2 comes up with a 4,500mAh battery with a 27W charger that promises to deliver fast charging and iPhone Se (2020) has a much smaller 1,821mAh battery. This supports 18W charging and also wireless charging. Later, you will end up adding OneOPlus Nord to your cart when it comes to battery and performance.

OnePlus Nord vs iPhone Se (2020) vs Xiaomi Poco X2: Additional Specs & Features

The very basic specs of the OnePlus Nord include Snapdragon 765G chipset (with 5G support), 8GB or 12GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The iPhone Se (2020) includes A13 Bionic chipset), but no 5G support, and just 3GB of RAM. Storage meanwhile comes in at 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB, and while there’s a fingerprint scanner in a button rather than the screen.

The Xiaomi Poco X2, on the other hand, has Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G OCta-core processor. This powers up 8GB RAM and runs everything smoothly on 8GB + 256GB variants as well.

Another big difference between OnePlus Nord and iPhone Se is of course their processor as one runs on Android 10 while iPhone Se (2020) smoothly slides on iOS 13.

Final Takeaway

The OnePlus Nord looks set to be one of the most exciting mid-range phones of 2020. Its starting price is very low for what’s on offer, and there’s a lot on offer – from a quad-lens rear camera to a dual-lens front-facing one, 5G, a big battery, lots of RAM and a large screen.

The iPhone SE (2020) though will appeal to fans of compact phones, fans of iOS, and those who want a top-tier chipset. So, if you have been waiting for so long, it may be the right time to order an OnePlus Nord online from Amazon.
