iPhone 12 Rumors: Apple Analysts Confirmed It To Come Without Charger

iPhone 12

It is becoming gradually clear that the unboxing of iPhone 12 will be extremely strange. As the rumors are indicating that all the accessories used to pack with the iPhone won’t come with the iPhone 12, it’s clear that the box will be nice when compared to the iPhone X series.

However, it can disappoint some Apple users as we heard Apple’s traditional wired Earpods will be missing from the Box, and then we got some tips from Apple’s Analysts confirming the charger  would be on the same track.

In case you lose faith, you can google it and thousands of rumors will surface the webpage in a span of minutes. There will be some so-called analysts while a few will be real, throwing out their reports & figures. One such report was saying that the packing will be a bit different. Because of these changes, it will be “thinner” and more “exquisite.”

Although our analysis shows, if Apple cuts these accessories to reduce costs and waste on its next-generation iPhones, including iPhone 12, it would be the reason for the company making the box smaller to match. Rumors surfacing the social media and internet have highlighted that the new approach will impact it’s future products “even SE 2”. The second generation iPhone SE, launched in April was hinted to lose its charger & EarPods. Interestingly, that could be a hint regarding the most mysterious & rumored iPhone SE Plus.

Interestingly, Apple is purportedly working on a new 20-watt fast-charging adapter to replace the existing 18-watt one that ships with the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max, but these bricks won't come with any device and will have to be purchased separately. At least buyers should still theoretically get a Lightning-to-USB-C cable for their troubles.

The rationale for scrapping packed-in chargers is that enough prospective iPhone buyers already have a drawer full of them and don't need more. On the flip side, the top-end iPhone 12 Pro models will likely command well over $1,000, and neglecting to include an adapter with those seems a bit unfair for what you'd pay.

What's more, the priciest iPhone 12 models may have larger batteries that will take especially long to charge with the tiny 5-watt brick Apple shipped with every one of its handsets up until last year's 11 Pro. And so, even if you do have a bunch of old iPhone chargers lying around, they might not deliver the optimal experience.

An Apple A Day, A Rumor A Day

According to TF Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo, Apple wants to offset the cost of adding 5G to its handsets by not including a power adapter or indeed earbuds in the box, though they will be available to buy separately if you need them.

To be fair to Apple there is an eco-friendly angle here too: at this stage the majority of people who are going to buy an iPhone probably already have the accessories they need from previous handsets. And more compact packaging means less waste.

We'll find out for sure later in the year when the iPhone 12 finally breaks cover – though it looks as though the regular schedule of a September announcement could be under threat, with the global pandemic that we're all living through.

On the topic of the next iPhone's packaging, it's hard to say what exactly the rumors means in describing it as "exquisite." Ultimately, this just seems like yet more evidence that Apple's customers this fall will have to square away a little extra cash for a fast charger if they don't already have one — and perhaps a pair of Lightning-compatible headphones or AirPods, too. You've been warned.
