Apple Will Manufacture High-Tech Airpods In 2026

Apple is reportedly developing new AirPods with built-in camera sensors and will start mass production in 2026. KGI security analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared this news via a social media post. These cameras are the same as those used for Face ID iPhones and iPads. The idea behind this feature is to help airpods integrate with the Vision Pro and future Vision devices of Apple. 

Ming-Chi Kuo provided further details about the new AirPods, stating that the infrared sensors will enable them to support Air Gestures (non-touch gestures). Kuo also revealed that Foxconn will be responsible for the mass production of these IR camera-enabled AirPods by 2026. The production is expected to be around 10 million pairs of AirPods, which reflects Apple's commitment to making these innovative devices available globally. 

According to reports, the project is codenamed B798. It will allow users to leverage the benefits of smart glasses without lenses and frames. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurnman also discussed this matter earlier this year. He stated that the Silicon Valley-based multinational corporation Apple is working on fitting a low-resolution camera on AirPods. 

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also reported that the Apple Watch 10 is expected to roll out with a new feature for measuring blood pressure. There are no official details, but it’s clear that Apple wants to make the Apple Watch more than just a stylish wearable gadget. 

In May 2024, Ming-Chi Kuo also revealed that Apple is developing a 20-inch foldable MacBook. Its production will begin in 2026, and shipping will start in 2027. Haitong Securities analyst Jeff Pu also confirmed this news.
