iPhone 17 Air and Google Pixel 9a Set to be Launched
Google and Apple are set to introduce 2 new phones, the iPhone 17 Air and Google Pixel 9a. The Pixel 9a will likely be launched in a few days, while the newest iPhone will come to the market later.
Rumours suggest the iPhone 17 Air will replace the iPhone 16 Plus and will be thinner than the 6.9 mm iPhone 6. Leaks from Ice Universe suggest that this phone will be only 5.5mm thick. They posted a video on x showing the iPhone 17 Air.
The analyst from TF International Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo, also predicted the same thickness of the iPhone 17 Air in January 2025. Kuo further said that the iPhone 17 Air will feature a 6.6-inch screen, while Ice Universe suggests a 6.9-inch display like the iPhone 17 Max.
Google Pixel 9a was recently spotted on the US FCC website, and the phone is anticipated to support satellite connectivity. This phone is rumoured to be available in 4 colours: Iris, Obsidian, Peony, and Porcelain and is expected to offer an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
The tipster shared 4 images of the Pixel 9a on X, showing its design, which features a dual rear camera setup. Leaked pictures of the 9a also tease the smartphone’s support for Google Gemini with apps, such as Google Calendar, Pixel Drops and camera and ecosystem features. The successor of Google Pixel 8a, the Pixel 9a, would be a good addition to the Google Pixel 9 series.
Reports suggest that Google’s Tensor G4 chip will back the Pixel 9a, which will offer 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB storage, and a 48 MP primary rear camera. According to reports, the Pixel 9a will run on Android 15 and pack a 5,100mAh battery, supporting 23W wired and 7.5W wireless charging.
