Key Features Android 15: A Lot To Cover Here

Android 15

The latest version of Google’s Android is here, and the all-new Android 15 has some cool new features. Do you know what are those? Don’t worry, we will tell you. This is the 15th version of Google’s operating system, and in true Google fashion, the Android 15 is named ‘Vanilla Ice Cream’. In this blog, we will go through the best new features introduced in the latest Android Version. Also, we will tell you when you can expect to see Android 15 on your mobile devices. So, let’s get started with the blog.

Name And launch

As you might all know, Google names its Android version on the name of desserts. For example, the Android 4 was named Kit-kat, the Android 5 was named Lollipop, and the Android 6 was named Marshmallow. Also, you might have noticed that the names mentioned above are in alphabetical order. First is K, then L and then M. Although the Android 15 does not have any nickname as of now, Google does use internal code names for their Androids, and this Android is called Vanilla Ice Cream, as mentioned above.

Google launched the Android 15 on 16 Feb 2024. This is the first phase, which is generally for testing purposes and developers’ previews. Although Google has not announced an official date for the launch, you can expect the stable and final version of Android 15 to launch in a few months. There is a possibility that Google might launch the stable Android 15 and Pixel 9 series together, most probably in October 2024.

If you’re a Google device user, you might be first in line for an update once the stable version of Android 15 arrives. This is mainly because other OEMs might take a little more time to make their UI more compatible with the new Android version. As Google Pixel phones use stock Android, it will be able to get the latest Android before other devices.

Android 15: Changes, New Features And UX Improvement

Although the new Android 15 looks quite similar to Android 14, it still has some major changes and feature updates you need to know about.

Custom Screen Recording

One of the most exciting and innovative features of the new Android 15 is the custom screen recording option. As the name suggests, this feature allows the users to record a particular part of the screen. For example, if you want to record something on Instagram, you just have to pull down the notification bar and click on screen recording. Here you will see two options; an entire screen record and a single app record. This way, your phone will only record Instagram and nothing else, even if you pull down the notification bar.

Improvements In Gaming And Security

The new Android 15 will also enhance the gaming experience by introducing new APIs, which will boost the gaming performance of the device. This will help you enjoy the best Android games ever made. Moreover, when it comes to security, the new Android app has secure file management that ensures that your data is even safer than before.

Notification Cooldown

Another Android 15 feature that is being talked about a lot is notification cooldown. What is it? Well, don’t you hate it when an app constantly shows notifications and fills your notification bar? You won’t have to face this problem now. The notification cooldown feature in Android 15 restricts successive notifications from the same app. If an app gives notifications frequently, Android 15 will restrict it.

New Controls In Camera App

Android 15 is also bringing some new features to your camera app. These new features will help you control the hardware of the device. New features in the camera app include a low-light preview, where any user can go to the developer option and turn up the brightness of the screen during low-light shots.  This will help you take better photos in low-light situations. You can also adjust the flash intensity in the new Android 15 which will help you create the best lighting conditions.

Keyboard Vibration Settings

Many apps offer haptic feedback while typing; however, the intensity of the vibrations is different in different apps. This, too, will change in the new Android 15 as Google is giving the vibration and feedback option out of the box. This option is already available in many Android skins like MIUI, but it was still missing in stock Android. However, Android 15 will change this. All you have to do is go to your settings and tap the ‘vibration’ setting, where you will see an option, ‘ Vibrations and Haptic Feedback’.

New Bluetooth Settings In Android 15

Earlier, you could turn your Bluetooth on or off by taping it once, and if you press the Bluetooth icon, you’ll land on the Bluetooth settings screen. Now, after a single tap, a small popup window will appear where you will be able to turn off/on your Bluetooth, and it will also show the paired and available devices. This option is also available in various Android skins but was lacking in stock Android.

Private Space

For the first time ever, Google is giving a new private space feature, which will enable you to lock away the apps that you want to hide. The apps that are locked will not be shown in the default app drawer and can be accessed only after punching in the password. This feature has been available in many Android skins for a long time now.

Which Android 15 Feature Do You Like The Most?

Android 15 is coming out with some long-awaited and new features that will change the way we interact with our Android devices. Although some of these features were already available in Android skins by other OEMs, they are new for stock Android. Moreover, it is also believed that Android 15 will take advantage of the AI capabilities of the high-end chips. We hope you liked the blog and don’t forget to comment and let us know which topic you would like us to cover next.
