Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 doesn’t look like a cheap laptop nor does it perform. The processor of the Lenovo keeps on improving and you’re going to see lots of major changes in this model. From design to the processor, comfortability to quality, everything will surprise you at this pricing segment. Take a deep overview of Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 Specifications for better clarification.

Processor & Software

When we talk about the processor of the Laptop, everyone looks for the updated version to match the current technology. In Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 sports dual-core Intel Core i3-1005G1 chip and 128GB M.2 SSD. When this combines with other features like 4GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics, etc, the laptop delivers a responsive experience within certain confines. With an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor and integrated Radeon graphics, the device isn’t made for gaming purposes but manages to shine in performance-related aspects.

The inclusion of an SSD ( Solid-state drive) makes the world of the laptop different, translating to faster boot times, and helps to launch quick apps too. The overall performance of the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 is smooth and this includes everything from basic document editing to web browsing using 15+ tabs at once. Moreover, it also includes a bunch of features to perform day-to-day stuff like batch resizing images, work coordination on slack, etc. The laptop is capable enough to handle everything very smoothly without any complications and keeping the heat in check.

Design & Display

In recent years, the bigger brands have stepped into the next-generation quality and design and Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 has no exceptions. It's not the Apple MacBook Pro for sheer material but it absolutely doesn’t look or feel cheap or less.

The display of the laptop sports a 15.6-inch screen, 1080p touch-enabled display, IPS panel technology and housed a high-quality metal enclosure with slim side bezel and shuttered 720p webcam up top.

The main chassis is plastic, but it gives you a feel of rigid and has an unusual and not unpleasant textured finish. The laptop turns 360-degree, making you feel robust but the keyboard is stable and firm with only traces of flex and bounce.

It has a soft touch and the laptop comes in graphite gray in a plastic body that looks classy and elegant. The laptop weighs just 1.6 kgs and it is extremely thin, it is not bulky at all. While flipping, it reveals the 14-inch display with noticeable bezels on the top and bottom.

On the right side, you will find the power button, a pair of USB-A ports, and a 4-in-1 card reader slot that supports full-sized SD cards, MMC, SDHC, and SDXC cards. The one interesting feature of the laptop is it supports an optional digital input pen that comes in handy and not just eases up your drawing and doodling, but also marking up documents.

You can make plenty of use of this pen as it is appreciated by both students as well as professionals who can give perfection to their work. Unfortunately, there is no specific place to house the pen though, so you would need to keep it safe. But yes, you will get a plastic holder that can be inserted into one of the USB ports to keep the pen handy.

Keyboard, Trackpad & Overall Usability

Keyboard- When it comes to the keyboard, the Lenovo offers a full-sized chiclet keyboard with rounded keys at the bottom in a signature style of Lenovo that are well-spaced out too, which is perfect for the all-time typers/writers like me. There’s no dedicated Numpad which is par for the course for a laptop with a 14-inch screen. The speakers are designed on either side of the keyboards and generously-proportioned trackpad below. Also, a small and square-shaped fingerprint scanner is placed below the keyboard, towards the right.

Trackpad- The trackpad is quite comfortable and smooth enough to access. It also doesn’t support dedicated hardware buttons for left and right click that gives out a more luxurious look. The fingerprint scanner works extremely well and is super fast.

Other Usability- In our Lenovo IdeaPad Flex5 Review, we observe that the speaker of the device is quite loud as stereo-type and there is no need to use headphones while video call. Apart from this you can fold the screen flat on top of the device’s base and convert it into a 14-inch Windows tablet that works well for content creation. You can pop up the device in tent mode, stand mode which enhances your video streaming experience. But once the demerit of tablet mode is front-facing speakers won’t remain so strong.

Battery Life, Price, Availability & Overall Performance

Battery Life- As far as the battery is concerned, the Flex 5 is configured with a fairly hefty 52.5Wh battery. In more clear words, it offers 12 hours of video playback, full-day operation at school or the office, and other work. Above all, it lasts for the whole day which is quite good as it allows you to access your work anywhere without troubling about the socket to charge your laptop. It supports USB-C to charge which makes it easy to ‘borrow’ some power.

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 Price- With a bundle of features, elegant design, and superb performance, you will get Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 for around $ 500 and if we talk about Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 Price in India, then it will cost you around 69,499 INR. We can bet you will struggle to find a similar laptop for less money.

Availability- Putting it in very simple words, you can buy it from any reliable e-commerce website or Lenovo store itself at the best possible prices and discounts.

Overall Performance- The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 Specs and Review suggested that the device is perfect for daily use like professional purposes and study but not made for gaming. The webcam, front speakers, and keyboard make it absolutely best for professional purposes, otherwise, it is cool for all other uses. The smooth performance, good battery life, and usability put it at the top of the choice list, then its Microsoft office, the flexibility it offers, and its convertible nature. As our personal experience says- it is a solid partner for both professional and other daily use as well.

Check out the pros and cons-
