To stop the spread of the novel coronavirus outbreak, many governments have implemented social distancing and nationwide lockdown. India Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already extended the lockdown for 19 days that was scheduled for 21-days earlier, but to diminish the hotspot of this pandemic across the country the lockdown has been extended till May 3.
Now, thousands of tech companies like Vipro, Apple, Samsung have put their gadget launches on hold till further notice. From 5G networks to the advent of AI and AR, people will have to wait to see the world changing through these technologies. Here’s the list of tech gadgets were set to launch in India, but put on hold due to a coronavirus outbreak. These 5 tech gadget launches are expected in the world after lockdown.
1. Compaq Smart Television Launch
Leading tech company Compaq is a familiar name among the techies and the company was set to return to India after many years of closing with it’s latest smart TV. It was the most popular and reliable electronic company in the world, but after a rapid merger with a famous laptop and computing brand HP, the company gradually started losing the game and trust until the brand completely disappeared from the global market.
After many years of closing the company was about to come back to India with it’s Smart TV that was said to launch in the last week of February. With it’s licensing deal with Ossify that is a popular brand based in Delhi, NCR, the company Compaq started manufacturing of TV to be launched in the market under its banner. Though Compaq was popular for it’s computing equipment, as people could establish a connection with a company deal in home appliances.
As of now, Compaq will relaunch in India with its full range of smart television. Availing in two 32 inches and 65 inches sized, the company will launch a smart TV soon. Officials said that they look forward to the launch of Compaq Smart TV in the last week of April after the lockdown.
2. Hello Moto! Motorola to launch Moto Razr
A famous smartphone brand in India that has disappeared from the global market was about to open into the Indian market with the launch of Moto Razr. The company is changing the date of launching events amid the pandemic. The first sale of Moto Razr was scheduled to start from April 2 but the company postponed this online launch due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. After PM announced 21-days countrywide lockdown the company decided to launch its gadget on April 15, now due to extended lockdown till May 3, the company is yet to announce the date of launch of Moto Razr.
3. Xiaomi to launch RedmiBook 14
It was launched earlier in China in October 2019, but the tech giant Xiaomi was expected to launch RedmiBook 14 in India as well. Xiaomi introduced RedmiBook 14 Ryzen Edition in October that was pretty popular among the techies. This laptop supports an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U processor that was pretty popular among the passionate gamers. With it’s 14-inch FHD display with a quite satisfied screen refresh rate and 5.75mm ultra-narrow bezel, it was about to rock the India market as well. However the company postponed the launching event of RedmiBook 14.
With an amazing screen-to-body ratio of 81.2%, the company could win the market amid the crisis. However, the company has rescheduled it’s gadget launching and the date is yet to be announced.
4. Vivo V19 Series to Launch
Leading smartphone company Vivo has cancelled all it’s launches due to coronavirus. With its head office in China, where the virus is said to have originated the company has put all the official statements on hold. The most awaited Vivo V19 series is expected to launch in the last week of May as it has to be launched on March 25 but postponed due to extended lockdown. Officials said they look forward to launching Vivo V19 series after the lockdown.
