MIUI 11: Every Xiaomi Phone Along With New Features And Timelines

Xiaomi has announced about the lunch of the upcoming Redmi Note 8 Series in India earlier of this month. The company has won two Red Dot design awards for the visuals and the latest sound effects on MIUI, which is the first for the Smartphone software industry. The company makes a statement that it has worked towards making MIUI 11 simpler by eliminating a lot of elements from the MIUI 10. There are some new colors also added to the UI for more organic experience along with a system-wide dark mode. At the time of the announcement, Xiaomi also declared that there are around 80 million monthly active users of MIUI in India, that compromise around 20% of the total internet users of the whole country.

Xiaomi phones are coming with MIUI 11 features

Here are all the phones which always receive the MIUI 11 updates along with the rollout timelines. According to the timelines which are revealed by the Xiaomi, MIUI 11 rollout started from 22nd October. But it will be seeded in phases to many old and new Xiaomi phones till 26th December.

The company has started revealing the updates to POCO F1, Redmi Y3, Redmi K20, Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7S and the users of these phones can go to about Phone and then System Updates to check for the same.

The second phase rollout of MIUI is scheduled to take place between 4 - 12 November for Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5A, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi 4, Mi Mix 2, Mi Max 2, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y2, and Redmi Y1 Lite. 

The third phase of the rollout is organized between November 13 – 29 for Redmi 8, Redmi 7A, Redmi Note 6 Pro, and Redmi Note 8. And finally the latest one i.e. Redmi Note 8 Pro is scheduled to receive an update to MIUI 11 between December 18 – 26.

New Features & Specification of MIUI 

Xiaomi has removed a bunch of elements like dividing lines to provide more areas to stand out. It will be more noticeable in the Settings menu or the Contact apps. Some other different colors hampered the overall viewing experiences which have also been removed with the addition of a system-wide dark mode. It gives the feature of dark mode in recent months along with the support of Android 10, iOS.

For the Xiaomi phones, it also brings the ‘Always On Display’. The company must be introduced a bunch of clock styles for its Redmi K20 series, and then it is expanding that feature with some additional animations, patterns, and even messages. It declares that the idea behind the symmetric patterns came from Kaleidoscope. On the other hand, the addition of the display gives the phone a more personal touch.

As some companies want to remove the bezels on their Smartphones, the notification light is no more a viable solution. Xiaomi has added a new feature that lights up the whole display or just the edges as alerts for notifications. With the help of MIUI 11, users can apply dynamic video wallpaper to the home screens of their phones. Also, there is a theme store which is having more than 100,000 wallpapers to choose from.

The latest version of Xiaomi also includes some productivity features like displaying documents for the users to find the relevant file easily. The company has made a partnership with the WPS office that helps in enabling file right from the file manager itself. It also supports all major file formats which include Presentation, Sheet, Word, PDF, etc. MIUI 11 also brings a ToDo list to the Notes app which is nothing but called Tasks. And it can be noted down everything that includes voice-based recordings. It syncs with the Calendar app. The ToDo list can also be accessed by sliding right from the edge of the home screen.

There is also a floating calculator which is added to the new features. It allows the users to bring up a mini calculator to the foreground without the requirement of switching between apps. There is also a dedicated step tracker that has been added to the interface which helps in keeping a record of the number of steps taken along with the distance and calories burnt. In addition to that, users can also track their menstrual cycles with the help of this calendar app.

Xiaomi has created a partnership with Bobble for the Mint Keyboard that supports more than 25 Indic languages and also conjointly offers the real-time word & emoji suggestion along with the Transliterations features. This Mint keyboard is available on Google Play Store.
