OnePlus 7 review
OnePlus has announced its two new smartphones- OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. OnePlus 7 Pro, on one hand, is the premium flagship whereas the lower variant is an affordable premium device. With features from OnePlus 7 Pro and resemblance of 6T, this one is a hardcore affordable premium device. But, is it the best affordable premium smartphone? Let's check it out in the OnePlus 7 review below:
Design and display
OnePlus 7 has not been designed like OnePlus 7 Pro but the company has kept it OnePlus 6T way. You get a waterdrop notch on top which feels outdated already because of the new phones coming with notch-less or punch hole displays. It doesn't mean that the device looks bad. This product looks very good in hands and feels premium too. The device packs an in-screen fingerprint scanner which is even better than OnePlus 6T one. It is very responsive and is one of the fastest in-display fingerprint sensors in the world. OnePlus 7 is available in two color variants: Mirror Gray and Red. On the back panel, there lies a dual camera vertical array in top-middle and OnePlus logo beneath it. One the side, you get a silence slider which was also present in many other OnePlus devices. The volume rocker and power button are easy to reach and feel very tactile too. There are stereo speakers present in the bottom which are improved with better sound quality than OnePlus 6T. Overall, OnePlus 7 is a revised design of OnePlus 6T with a touch of new and upgraded features. You can easily buy this phone online using Croma Coupon with great offers.
Coming to the display, OnePlus 7 packs a 6.41-inch AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 2340 x 1080. It is not as premium looking display as OnePlus 7 Pro. Keeping the comparisons aside, it is one heck of a display with a waterdrop notch on the top. The colors come out very well-defined and balanced. In fact, watching a movie or having a gaming session will not bore you at any time- such beautiful colors and pictures come out. Not the best but surely one of the best displays in the smartphones market.
Performance
Under the hood, OnePlus 7 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. The device comes in two RAM/Storage variants: 6GB/128GB and 8GB / 256GB respectively. There is no space for the microSD card to increase the storage capacity of your device. The device comes with UFS 3.0 storage too which makes read/write processes ultra fast. Having a 7nm chipset unit makes the device insanely fast- as One Plus says "Beyond the speed". The device shows no sign of lagging down whether you are doing intense gaming, multitasking or doing some heavy tasking. Coming to gaming, the device packs Adreno 640 GPU. Gaming in this device is sugar sweet and smooth like breeze. High-end games like Asphalt 9 and PUBG run without any lags on high graphics. So, in performance, this device really goes beyond speed.
One Plus 7 runs Android 9 Pie out of the box coupled with Oxygen OS 9.5 skin on top of it.
Cameras
OnePlus 7 comes with dual vertical array camera setup including 48MP primary sensor and 5MP shooter for Portrait shots. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera present. OnePlus 7 Pro has a triple camera array including a telephoto lens, a wide-angle camera, and a primary lens. Telephoto Lens is not as good as we wanted it to be. So, OnePlus 7 is a great choice among all OnePlus devices in cameras- all thanks to the beautiful, well-defined, and aesthetics-rich pictures. The selfie camera also comes up with some detailed pictures. Though it is not the best camera device in the market, still, it is one of the best for sure. Battery Life
OnePlus 7 packs 3,700mAh battery which can easily give you a full day juice for moderate users with some fuel still left at the end of the day. OnePlus 7 comes with lesser battery life than One Plus 7 Pro which is having 4000mAh battery. No wireless charging is still an issue for OnePlus fans. OnePlus hasn't still included it in any of its devices. The device is capable of taking a 20W charger to charge the device insanely fast. OnePlus 7 charging unit and battery configs are similar to the OnePlus 6T which makes me say- "OnePlus 7 is a blend of both OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 7 Pro."
Final verdict
OnePlus has for the first time launched two devices at the same time- OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. Talking about OnePlus, it is a mashup of both OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 7 Pro. The device has the design of 6T and resembles to it but the upgraded features come from OnePlus 7 Pro. This handset is affordable, solid, and comes with high-end specs. The only complaint can be the outdated design and no wireless charging. Although, these factors are not a deal breaker. So, if you want a device filled with premium specs and top-notch quality at an affordable price, there is nothing better than OnePlus 7 in the market.
