iPhone 16 Pro Models Expecting A18 Pro Chipset

After the success of the iPhone 15 series, Apple is gearing up to bring its highly anticipated iPhone 16 series. According to reports, iPhone 16 Pro models will be equipped with cutting-edge technology. It is expected that iPhone 16 Pro models will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities driven by the formidable A18 Pro chipset. 

Apple used an older A16 chip on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models and an A17 Pro Chip on the Pro models. However, Apple planned to change the chip on the iPhone 16 models, seeing the growing demand. "According to our supply chain checks, we are seeing growing demand for Apple's A18, while its A17 Pro volume has stabilised since February. We note Apple's A18 Pro, the 6-GPU version, will feature a larger die area (compared to A17 Pro), which could be a trend for edge AI computing", Pu wrote in his note.

By integrating on-device AI performance, Apple will provide a new user experience, unlocking a new era of intelligent computing that seamlessly blends the physical and digital realms. 

The reports suggest that the chip can accommodate more transistors and specialised components. In addition, Apple is reportedly in talks to take a split approach to its AI feature this year. 

The iPhone 16 series, with its four models—iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max—is expected to launch in the second half of the year. The series is also anticipated to include major changes and upgrades to stand it apart from the previous iPhone series.
