Apple’s Deal With OpenAI To Use ChatGPT In iPhones
Bloomberg shared a report highlighting that Apple talked with OpenAI and Google about their AI models and is about to make a deal with Open AI. By making this deal, Apple aims to integrate ChatGPT features in its upcoming iPhones. Both companies are expected to be seen working side-by-side in the next month during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
Mark Gurman, Bloomberg's Chief Correspondent, said Apple first renewed talks with OpenAI about using the Startup’s tech to power new AI features in upcoming iPhones. Now, Apple is building a formal partnership with OpenAI.
This news appeared soon after Apple reportedly talked with Google about licensing Gemini for iPhone services. According to Mark Gurman, “discussions didn’t turn out as an agreement, but are ongoing.”
OpenAI announced that it would unveil new ChatGPT features today, after which the deal news came. Bloomberg previously reported that talks between the Microsoft-backed AI company OpenAI and Apple were pretty far along. Discussions of an agreement also occurred for some time.
Apple has a wide range of researchers working on its own AI models, but they don’t seem ready to become the stars of the show. So, the company has been looking for some outside help for AI features.
iOS 18 is likely to be announced during the WWDC on 10 June. As Apple is nearing a deal with Open AI, we might see some ChatGPT capabilities integrated with iOS features, such as FaceTime, iMessage, and Siri.
The tech behemoth Apple is nearing a deal with OpenAI to add some amazing features to its upcoming iPhones. So, users will get a better experience than ever, and Apple Inc.'s prominence is likely to grow even further.
