Samsung Galaxy S21 Specifications & Features Ahead Of The Launch

Samsung Galaxy S21

Samsung usually announces two flagship-come-premium smartphone series every year ‒ The Galaxy ‘S’ and The Galaxy ‘Note’ series. While both are equally popular among the tech-savvies, the company released one in the first half of the year and the latter in the second half.

With the increased popularity and craziness, people follow every leak and rumor about these most awaited flagship smartphone series. While the company unveiled Samsung Galaxy Note 20 on 5 August, all the eyes have now been shifted to the next Galaxy ‘S’ series, which is supposed to be named either Galaxy S21 or Galaxy S30.

Well, here at Techtoreview, we are keen to know every little or big thing about the smartphone market, and here is everything that we’ve heard and expected for the Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21 Ultra smartphone. Let’s keep it short & crisp because there is a lot to know about these most awaited series.

What Will the Upcoming Samsung Galaxy “S” series Be Named?

More Likely to be Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra

Galaxy S30 is on the list

Before the company released Samsung Galaxy S20, the naming battle for Samsung’s Galaxy ‘S’ series was slightly easy to predict as the company was following sequential numbers. Though, they are no longer following the same strategy.

But Samsung changed the game when it jumped from the Galaxy S10 to the Galaxy S20 in 2020. Therefore, it has become slightly tough to determine what the upcoming Galaxy S will be called. We would bet on “Galaxy S21”, “Galaxy S21+” and “Galaxy S21 Ultra” as these are more likely to mark the list, but Samsung is a game changer so it may use Galaxy S30 too.

As of now, Samsung has not suggested or confirmed anything about the upcoming Galaxy S series device, but rumors are mentioning it as Galaxy S21, that’s what we will refer to the device in the following article until any sustaining proof suggests anything else.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Release Date and Price

Early 2021

Likely to be Available from March 2021

Unlike Apple, Samsung usually unveils its smartphones at the starting of the year. And the upcoming Galaxy S series smartphone is likely to be released in February so we can expect its sale starting from March. Although, there are rumors saying the device might launch in early January 2021.

Have a look at the history, The Samsung Galaxy S9 was released on 25 February and available for sale from 16 March. The Galaxy S10 was introduced on 20 February and sales started from 8 March and the Galaxy S20 was released on 11 February and went on sale from 6 March.

So, it’s clear that this upcoming Galaxy S21 is likely to go on sale either on 5 March or 12 March, but this is just an assumption.

Talk about the price of Samsung Galaxy S21, we expect this series to be in-line with previous releases. It means the Galaxy S21 would be cheaper than the Galaxy S21 Ultra - if there is one of these expected flagship devices.

Galaxy S21 Design

Ultra Premium Glass & Metal Design

Drastic Redesign Unlikely

Needless to say that Samsung will leave no stone unturned to make the best phone of all time. The Samsung Galaxy S20 series adopted a few changes in the design front in comparison to the S10 series (Excluding the S10 Lite), rotating camera set on the back from the center to the left corner.

Well, the front will remain untouched bringing the same what had delivered earlier, along with a punch-hole camera in the center of the display at the head. Though Samsung has not confirmed anything if it will change the design or not. However, we are expecting some change in the features but no major change such as redesign is expected.

With a waterproof body along with a glass back protection and metal frame, the all-new Samsung Galaxy S20 is likely to come in various colors.

We cannot expect some bigger changes if Samsung could manage to offer an under-display front camera, but there is no rumor confirming that so it’s so far.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Display

Rumors Of Three Sizes Again

120hz Refresh Rate

Curved Edges

The Samsung Galaxy S20 has a 6.2-inches display and the S20+ has a 6.7-inch display. Though both have curved edges around a Quad HD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate.

We can expect a similar display size in the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ and a groundbreaking 120Hz refresh rate too. We also expected a curved display at least on the Samsung Galaxy S21+.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Specifications & Features

Exynos 991/992/ 1000 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 875, 5G

128GB/256GB Internal Storage Available

Galaxy S21: 4800mAh Battery

Galaxy S21 Ultra: 5000mAh Battery

It is unclear even in the rumors what chipsets will power the basic Galaxy S21 and S21+ but with the Exynos 991/992, we’d expected it to sport Qualcomm Snapdragon. First reported by the PhoneArena on the behalf of a tweet from a reliable tipster MauriQHD suggests that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 could sport an Exynos Chipset. Samsung’s new Exynos 2100 is expected to be a successor to the Exynos 990.

Rumors also suggested that there will be 5G variants of both Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+ as they will be available in 128GB and 256GB storage options.

Talking about the battery capacity, the S21 ultra is likely to sport the largest mAh, followed by the Samsung Galaxy S21+ and standard S21 respectively. Leaks suggest that Samsung Galaxy S20+ will sport a 4800mAh, but there is nothing for the S21 at the end.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Camera

In-display Punch Hole Front Camera

108 MP main Camera Leaks Suggest

OIS Front Camera

The company Samsung is supposed to boost its camera offerings. It is expected to upgrade the current camera offerings. With an ultra-clear lens and optimum sensor, the all-new Galaxy S21 is expected to come with increased capabilities.

This is all that we’ve heard so far about the most awaited upcoming Samsung Galaxy S series. Well, these leaks sometimes change the company’s mind too. So, we are expecting it to follow the aforementioned specifications & features. Let’s see what comes!
