Samsung Delays the Launch of Upcoming Foldable Smartphone

Samsung is working on a new foldable design for Galaxy Fold which was showcased a few months back. This particular new product didn’t follow the previous planning of the South Korean Smartphone maker. A few reviews showed the errors with the display of the device and made Samsung to delay the launch. It has an in-folding display. But the company is trying for an out-folding design. This new out-folding design is based on the newly published patents which were applied in the US last year and in Korea in December 2015. One of the patents was published earlier this week.

The company wants to design a display similar to the flip-phone and another design is like a clam-shell design which is similar to the Huawei’s Mate X. According to the report, the vertical folding phone of Samsung will be revealed in this year or early next year. On the out-folding device, it shows a flexible displayed mounted on two different cases linked by a hinge with a sliding mechanism. When you start folding it, the slide cover slides back towards the case and it allows the display to fold. The slide cover helps the display to fold easily at the time of the slide back. It helps the Smartphone to stay in the unfolded state. It has also a locking mechanism that is visible from the patent drawings. It helps to lock the sliding cover when the phone is unfolded.
