OpenAI Makes Debut In The Super Bowl With A Unique Ad

The Cupertino-based tech giant OpenAI debuted in the Super Bowl (an annual football league in the USA) with its 60-second-long first-ever TV commercial. This marks OpenAI’s entry in the race to make advertisements between Meta and Google. 

This ad includes white and black dots preparing images of progress over time – from early tools like fire to modern breakthroughs like DNA sequencing and space exploration. 

The ChatGPT owner’s commercial ad cost approximately $14 million for the first half placement. It was prepared under OpenAI CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) Kate Rouch. The ad avoids mentioning AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) or superintelligence and focuses on applications. 

In an interview  with “The Verge”  about the ad, CMO Kate Rouch said, “We want the message to feel relevant to the audience that is watching the Super Bowl, which includes tens of millions of people who have no familiarity with AI.” 

OpenAI’s text-to-video AI (Artificial Intelligence) Soura was used to create ideas rapidly and explore different camera handling. The final animation was wholly created by human artists, marking a combination of human creativity and a machine.
