Smartphone games are the best way to spend a boring day. As of today, there over millions of iOS games available on the Appstore, making it hard for a regular to choose out the best ones. I spent dozens of hours on the play store checking and playing as many games as possible. Below I have sorted a list of the best iOS games that you should definitely try out.

1.    Alto’s Odyssey


In this adventure with Alto, you get over 180goals to achieve a and 6 different unlockable characters, Alto’s Odyssey lets you play as “Alto” -  the shepherd who’s the goal is to capture as many Llamas along the way. Along the way, you get to collect coins, certain boosts, jump over cliffs for more extra points.
The game has beautiful visuals and a relaxing soundtrack. The game also offers an immersive mode - called the “Photo mode” that lets you enjoy the game in its full glory- with just visuals and sound.

2.    Madden overdrive


Madden overdrive is an annual NFL game by EA. The latest version of the game has been updated with better graphics and Player vs Player mode that lets you play against real-time people. Players will have a variety of ways to earn in-game items, including daily and weekly event, challenges, and also acquiring players through an auction house or from player packs. 

Madden overdrive’s head to head play where you’ll be playing against your opponents in real time in a new game of fantasy points. Player will get three minutes to execute an offensive drive and you can earn fantasy points for various actions, whether that’s gaining yards, making a catch and scoring. 

3.    OXEN FREE 1.0


The game is based on a supernatural tale that amidst in the background of an old military base in OXEN FREE. Game feature- an intelligent conversation system plays a vital role. You can change the story and your relationship with characters according to your decision making. 
On one step you will join Alex and his stepbrother who has unlocked the gate where the dark and cryptic past of Edwards Island comes back once again to haunt the inhabitants. 

4.    SID MEIER’S CIVILIZATION VI


The designer of the game Sid Meier made this game based on the civilization from the Stone Age to the Space Age. Once restricted to iPads, the game now works with all the recent iPhones. Civilization VI offers a new way to interact with your world, expand your empire across the map, advance your culture, and compete against history’s greatest leader to build a civilization that will stand the test of time. 
You can play as one of the 20 historical leaders including Roosevelt (America) and Queen Victoria (England). The app will be downloaded free and get 60 turns before you have to pay the full version.

5.    Monument Valley 2


Get ready for the sequel of monument valley for those who had loved part 1. The story is based on the journey of a mother and daughter in a stunning and impossible world. The mother teaches her child about the mysteries of the valley, exploring stunning environments and manipulating architecture to guide them on their way.

With each unique chapter and a beautiful ending, Monemumt 2 also allows to add and play as a different character.  

6.    HEARTHSTONE: HEROES OF WARCRAFT


HEARTHSTONE: HEROES OF WARCRAFT is a fun and free digital collectible card game. In this game, you can earn gold that can be spent on booster packs. Moreover, in the mode of the arena, you can play a special mode namely ‘sealed draft’ that rewards canny deck building and smart play. 
The game will allow you to fight epic card duels and summon allies and minions to your side.

7.    POCKET CITY


The pocket city is newly titled by Codebrew games. There are free versions of the game that you can try out or after paying a few bucks you can just buy the whole thing. In this, game content lets you build your own town with the broadest possible brushstrokes. 
There is a more good amount of personality in the game- you can zoom right down to street level to see how things are going, which not only gives you some feedback but also lets you monitor crimes and fires as they happen. 

8.    DONUT COUNTRY


DONUT Country is a game that revolves around a hole that opens up in the middle of a charmingly stylized pastel Los Angeles, its circumstances growing larger with each person, palm tree and building that falls into its gaping maw. The hole is being controlled by mischievous raccoons that are hungry for trash.  And it is your job to save the day.
