Check Out These 59 Alternative Apps To Chinese Apps Banned In India

Alternatives to Banned Chinese Apps

The central government of India is on fire and banned 59 Chinese applications on Monday evening saying that “these apps risked the sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of the country, the security of state & public orders” by allegedly involved in data mining and data privacy. In an official statement, the Ministry of Information Technology said “upon receiving recent reliable inputs that such apps are a threat to the sovereignty and integrity of India, the Government of India has finally decided to ban certain Chinese apps in India. The list includes ShareIt, Tik Tok, Beauty Plus, UC Browser, and others with a huge fan base in the country. The Ministry of Information Technology decided to disable the usage of these apps in both mobiles and non-mobile internet accessed devices.

Finally, the battle of YouTube vs Tik Tok ends, and YouTubers savor a victory. Tik Tok is one of the major Chinese Applications with up to 120 million Indian users on the base of it. Commenting on the Indian Government’s decision to ban 59 Chinese apps, including Tik Tok in India, Nikhil Gandhi Tik Tok India’s Head said, “The government of India has issued an interim order for the blocking of 59 apps, including TikTok and we are in the process of complying with it. We have given a change to discuss with government stakeholders for an opportunity to defend and submit clarifications. Tik Tok and other apps continue to comply with all the data privacy & security requirements under India IT law and have not transferred any data of Indian users to any foreign government, including the Chinese officials.”

However, it’s not illegal if the users don’t delta Tik Tok, Apple and Android users are now concerned as to what they will use after these apps will be removed from both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

While the government has not shared anything about this, we’ve put together a list of 59 alternative apps to ban Chinese applications in India. Here’s a list of alternative apps to Tik Tok, Uc Browser, and other 59 Chinese apps banned in India. It’s the right time to switch. Scroll down to know the features & more;

  • UC Browser, CM Browser, APUS Browser, DU Browser

These Chinese apps were widely used for browsing, while other approved browsing applications have been by far the best-rated android application. So, Google Chrome has always been on the list of most-rated browsing apps for Android users and it comes with excellent features to connect to all google apps on your smartphone. Apple iOS users can also download & use Google Chrome, though the Safari browser is just enough for iOS users.

  • CamScanner, Vault-Hide

Right now, it is the right time to transfer all important files, documents, photos, and videos to Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or other cloud-based storage platforms available in the market.

If you’re concerned about scanned copies of your digital documents, you can now think about switching to Google Drive or use alternative apps like Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft Office Lens, Evernote, or Adobe Scan. Some major smartphone brands like Samsung also come up with their pre-installed scanners.

  • Tik Tok, Likee, Viva Video, U Video, Vigo Video, Kwai, Bigo Live

Yes, it could be the end of the road for the so-called models and actors (Tik Tok users in India), however, there are some alternative video-sharing platforms. There are plenty of short video sharing apps in India as well. The list includes Mitron, Bolo Indya, Roposo, Dubsmash, Instagram, and Chingari. Notably, Zee5 is also working on launching a short video sharing app soon.

  • Xender, ShareIt

Unfortunately, these fast file sharing apps won't be available in India anymore. One could easily transfer pictures, videos, movies, and files through these apps without losing the actual quality of the file. However, one can simply use cloud storage to store files & documents and share it with other users via shareable links. There are other files transferring applications including UpSend and ShareAll.

  • Shien, ClubFactory, ROMWE

If we talk about alternatives to these eCommerce clothing apps, there are plenty of eCommerce applications. These are not just limited to clothing but also offering a wide range of other lifestyle & fashion accessories. Some of the most-rated online clothing & fashion apps that are not shipping products from China are Myntra, Koovs, Ajio, Bewakoof, other than Amazon and Flipkart, and others.

  • UC News, Newsdog, QQ News Feed

Most leading news agencies have their apps, including Ajj Tak, Zee News, and NDTV. You can also use Google News that is one of the most reliable news aggregators.

This decision to ban Chinese apps will have severe impacts on Chinese companies like Bytedanceand Xiaomi that have a huge user base nearly 50% right from India. Tik Tok alone clocked in a huge profit of 45 crores from India in the first financial year of its launch in India. Surprisingly, while the Central Government of India and the Ministry of Information Technology banned some of the Alibaba ground-own apps like UC Browser and We Chat, the popular B2B eCommerce website AliExpress remains functional.
