iPhone 14 Review: The Bigger & The Smarter For YOU
The very first iPhone was released in 2007; since then the company has been launching iPhones in the market. From iPhone 4, to iPhone 5, 6, SE, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and finally, iPhone 14, the company has excessively made its remarkable place in the hearts of people across the world. Apple is not just the brand rather it is associated with one’s feelings, style, and personality. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the iPhone is among the best phones on the list of the majority of people. Citing iPhone 14, the phone was launched on September 7, 2022, in India, and since then, it has been in the limelight and has become a matter of talk among people. Want to buy this smartphone, but I am puzzled about whether to buy it or not. In this write-up, we will walk you through the iPhone 14 review. So, stride along with us and keep reading the blog till the end.
Design and display that can amaze you
In the iPhone 14 review, we will first talk about the design and display of this phone. iPhones are renowned for their beautifully crafted designs. Though the design is not fresh, it is a carbon copy of the iPhone 13, complete with the notch. This smartphone still has a 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch and a retina class resolution of 2532 x 1170. The display is covered by Apple’s Ceramic Shield and an aerospace-grade aluminium frame. Furthermore, the phone is 0.15mm thicker and 2g heavier otherwise it is the same looking and feeling phone just like iPhone 13. The aesthetic design of the phone gives a wonderful feel to hold, which is quite lightweight.
Needless to say, Apple or iPhones are known for amazing camera quality. iPhone 14 comes with a 48MP primary camera and 12mp Dual rear cameras similar to its predecessor. The 12MP main shooter has a bigger aperture - f/1.5 compared to f/1.6 on iPhone 13 - and a larger 1.9um pixel size for improved low-light performance. Further, the ultra-wide cameras are seemingly unaltered. In broad daylight, the phone captures pleasant photos with an affinity for true-to-life colours. Further, if you want richer colours and higher contrast, you can always turn to photographic styles from the camera settings. The phone can also handle high-contrast scenes efficiently and makes a good balance between highlight and shadow details.
After cameras, iPhones are known for their performance. In today’s iPhone 14 review, we have analysed that this smartphone is packed with the same chipset as last year’s iPhone 13, which is A15 Bionic. It means you can get a slight step up in graphics performance with its 5-core GPU. The overall performance of this smartphone is fantastic, but the 60Hz display makes scrolling a little sluggish. However, iPhone 14 comes with multiple performance improvements that’s why the new model has a 5 Core-GPU, which Apple says is 18% faster than the iPhone 13’s 4 Core GPU. In addition, the phone comes with 6GB RAM, up from 4GB in iPhone 13. iPhone 14 also has an updated internal design for better heat management.
Battery life and charging
Another important aspect to talk about in the iPhone 14 review is the battery life and charging of the phone. The phone delivers all-day battery life however the charging speed is really slow. Well, iPhone 14 comes with a 3,279 mAh battery life, an insignificant 39 mAh increase from iPhone 13’s 3,240 mAH battery. With this minor bump and significant improvement, the iPhone promises an extra hour of endurance over last year’s model. But the charging speed of the phone hasn’t improved at all. However, the phone tends to top out at 20W with USB power delivery, 15W with Magsafe, and a measly 7.5W with Qi wireless charging.
iPhone 14 runs a powerful iOS 16 which comes with multiple exciting features. Want to know about the most exciting of all? It’s a new lock screen experience. You will get many customization options to personalise the look and feel of your iPhone 14 fully. In fact, you can pick from multiple photo styles, change fonts and colours, add a blur effect to the home screen, and much more. Further, you can add a lock screen widget to quickly glance at essential/ significant information that normally requires unlocking the device and opening an app, which includes reminders, calendar events, stock updates, weather, and news flash.
