Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has the feature of ToF sensor
Samsung Galaxy S10 5G has hexa-camera setup on front and back both. It also includes an additional Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor for 3D sensing as well as for more accurate facial recognition. Users can use this sensor for multipurpose such as a better portrait made shots and augmented reality features. It is said that Samsung is going to bring the same tech to its upcoming Galaxy Note 10 flagship; moreover, Samsung will trickle it down to the budget to ‘A’ series. It is for sure that next-gen Note will rock two ToF sensors – one at the back and second on the front. It simply implies that Samsung will need to double the capacity than it generally manufactures.
Besides that, ET news claimed that KOLEN, South Korean lens-maker, will invest $22 million to build a new plant in Vietnam closer to the Galaxy S and Note factories. Recently, one statement is given by KOLEN executive that they are planning to produce lenses through their new plant by the end of July. Moreover, they will begin operations by next month. It restates the earlier speculations that say Galaxy Note 10+ will be equipped with a quad rear camera setup that will include a ToF sensor.
Although KOLEN is expecting to produce another 12 million units per month with the new plant yet its current production capacity is close to 13 million lenses per month. This increment in production will make KOLEN the biggest lens manufacturer in South Korea. KOLEN desires to stay relevant and has enough capacity to fulfill the demand with vendors including multiple sensors on smartphones. In case of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 series, the flagship is likely to include a telephone lens, an ultra-wide angle unit in addition to the ToF unit on the high-end variant and regular RGB sensor. This phone is going to launch in August 2019.
