Apple’s Feature-Packed iOS 18.2 Finally Released

After waiting a long time, Apple finally launched the stable update of iOS 18.2. This update is backed by Apple Intelligence and supports features like Genmoji, Image Playground, ChatGPT integration for Siri, Visual Intelligence advanced writing tools, etc. The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple announced Apple intelligence at WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) 2024.
New Features with iOS 18.2
1- Image Playground
Users can generate images with the new iOS 18 update. This update has a standalone image Playground app to create images, while Apple provides suggestions like costumes, items, and locations based on user commands. The images generated using Image Playground are a bit cartoonish for now.
2- Genmoji and Image Wand
Genmoji features use AI to create new emojis stored on the emoji keyboard. It also has access to people's albums in the Photos app, allowing users to create specific emojis for their loved ones. Image Want enables iPad users to turn rough sketches in the Notes app into complete images using text prompts.
3- ChatGPT Integration with Siri
Due to ChatGPT integration with Siri, voice assistance will be available. Before users send a request to ChatGPT for any task, they will be consulted about it, and OpenAI won't store any user requests because the IP address will be masked. Also, Apple users won’t need to sign in to ChatGPT to process requests.
4- New Settings for Camera Control
With the new update, Apple is adding new options to the camera control button. Users can now lock exposure and focus while taking pictures with a double click on the button. This feature is off by default, so users need to activate it from the ‘Camera Control’ menu in the settings. There are some other features for camera speed, like default, slow, and slower.
5- Finding My
The Finding My app now allows users to share the location of their lost items. Users can create a link for the lost item in the Find My app and pass it to their friends or authorities. So the receivers can access the lost item’s location. This link will expire either within one week or after the item is accessed.
Tim Cook led Apple’s new iOS update will be available on several devices, such as iPhone 16, 15, 11, 12, 14, etc.
