Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform Is Now Out

Qualcomm on Monday announced one of its most powerful and latest processors for mobile platforms with more user-friendly features. The chipset will be adopted by companies like Honor, iQOO, realme, Redmi, and Xiaomi for their flagship Android phones. Senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets Chris Patrick of  Qualcomm Technologies said, "With capabilities including on-device generative AI and advanced photography features, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is designed to enhance user experiences and foster creativity and productivity in daily life."

Key Features

The company has revealed some of its chipset's cutting-edge features, which can significantly improve user experience. Below is the list of features that the company mentioned:

• Generative AI features

• Always-sensing ISP

• Hyper-realistic mobile gaming

• Breakthrough connectivity 

• Lossless high-definition sound

The platform also supports the various array of AI models, including popular large language models (LLM) such as:

• Baichuan-7B

• Llama 2 

• Gemini Nano

“The new mobile platform will allow us to provide our customers with a personalized premium experience, all thanks to generative AI,” said William Lu, a Partner and President of Xiaomi Corporation, GM of Xiaomi Brand, and president of the International Business Department. 

The first device containing Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s is expected to be released in March.
