India’s First Ever IP69 Rated Smartphone: Oppo F27 Pro+
One of the world’s leading technology brands, Oppo, will launch its latest F27 Pro+ on June 13, 2024. It is the first IP69-rated waterproof smartphone in India. There are smartphones available with IP68 ratings, providing excellent protection from water, but the Oppo F27 Pro+ will take it to the next level.
An IP69 rating is a small step up from IP68, but it showcases the highest level of smartphone protection from water. The Oppo F27 Pro+ can resist higher pressure and lower temperatures for long periods.
Oppo’s official website claims that the F27Pro+ can be submerged in water 1.5 meters deep for half an hour and will still function smoothly. In addition to its IP69 rating, the smartphone is also certified for IP68 and IP66, ensuring strong protection against water and dust. However, these ratings only apply to tap water, not to any other liquid, such as soda, alcohol, or seawater.
The smartphone’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass V2. Oppo F27 Pro+ is also resistant to hot water. Moreover, commercials show users cleaning their phones in a washing machine. Oppo restructured the F27 Pro+ to make this miracle come true.
Oppo is calling F27 Pro+ India’s first “super-rugged, monsoon-ready smartphone,” with Swiss SGS 5-star drop resistance and the MIL-STD-810H method 516.8 certification for rugged build. The company also shares that the F27Pro+ will feature a waterproof microphone, speaker openings, SIM card slot pinhole and USB port. The microphone openings and earpiece speakers are enclosed by a film that allows audio to pass through but keeps the water out, and the USB unit is protected with a silicone ring.
