Apple WWDC 2024: Launching The Latest iOS 18
Tech giant Apple will unveil its AI advancements at the WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference). According to the Power On newsletter by Bloomberg, Apple may announce practical AI applications like transcribing voice memos and auto-generating emojis according to emotions.
Custom emojis might not be a big deal, but they will boost user experience. Apple is also rumoured to announce a partnership with OpenAI, integrating ChatGPT into its operating systems. Apple’s negotiations with Google are also underway for similar integration with Gemini AI.
The “smart recap” is an important feature that is expected to be announced at WWDC. This feature will summarise missed texts, notifications, and various media, such as web pages, news articles, and documents. Apple has also teased some other innovative features of iOS 18, like eye-tracking technology, music haptics, and generative AI.
The tech behemoth also plans to improve features alongside AI, like on-device Spotlight search, Safari internet searches, and email and text suggestion writing. Additionally, AI might be used for retouching in photos.
Apple's virtual assistant, Siri, may receive certain enhancements like a more natural-sounding voice and better functionality on the Apple Watch. Apple aims to perform as many AI tasks locally as possible, but more complex operations will be performed on M2 ultra-based servers.
After AI advancements, Apple will likely introduce an iOS 18 feature allowing users to change the app’s icon colours, which is currently possible through a workaround app.
WWDC 2024 will take place from 10 June 2024 to 14 June 2024. At this event, Apple will unveil some interesting features with iOS 18. From eye-tracking technology to change the app’s icon colour, several features will enhance user experience.
