Google Chrome is one of the most feature-packed browsers which have the most helpful features you would want in a browser. Now you can enable more Chrome features using Chrome Extensions and Chrome Flags. Another thing is that it supports more than 100 languages. It allows the users to use the browser in any language and benefit from the web. Google knows how to bring users from every corner of the world onto its platform.

There are various ways to change the language in Google Chrome which are depending on the different platforms you are using. We are discussing how to change Chrome Language on different mobile using different desktop platforms. We will also cover some specific use case scenario through which you can able to change the language in Google Chrome.

Change the language in Google Chrome (applicable for Windows, Linux and Chrome OS only)

  1. Click on the three dots present on the top-right corner to open the “Settings”.

  2. Now, click on the hamburger menu on the top-left corner and click on “Advanced to expand the menu”.After that, please click on “Languages”.

  3. After opening the Language, click on “Add Languages”.

  4. Now, after choosing the language which you want to use on Google Chrome, Click on the “Add” Button.

  5.  After that, tap on the three-dot menu which is located beside the language which you have chosen, then enable “Display Google Chrome” in this language.

  6. After enabling, click on “Relaunch” button for the changes to take effect.

  7. Now, you have to open the language setting and click on “Move on the top” present beside your chosen language.Now, you have already changed Chrome language including the UI and overall settings.

  8. On the other hand, if you want to change the language of Google search on Chrome then you have to perform a Google search and click on “Settings” just below the search box and choose a language.

  9. At last, select your language and tap on the “Save” button.Now, your Google search will also be in the language of your choice.

 

Force Change Google Chrome Language

If you want to change the language from Chrome’s native Settings, then you have only limited to Chrome’s UI and settings. Here are the steps to follow;

  1. Open Chrome’s settings and navigate to Languages as mentioned in the above steps. First of all, open the language tab to enable “Offer to translate pages that aren’t in a language you read” toggle.

  2. Now, Chrome needs to offer you a translate page dialog beside the address bar.

  3. Then install Google Translate Extension which is free on Chrome.

  4. Now click on “Translate this page”. It’ll change your whole webpage to the primary language.

  5. If you are not interested to use an extension, then you can go to Google Tran slate’s page and paste the URL of the webpage.

Then it’ll generate a custom link, and click on it. After that, you will be able to read the website in the language of your choice.

 

Change Google Chrome Language for Typing

There are certain tools that let you change two languages of your writing without disarranging with Chrome’s native settings. Followings are the required steps;

  1. Install Google Input Tools extension which is free on Chrome.

  2. Click on Google Input extension which is present on the top of the top-right corner to open “Extension Options”.

  3. You have to “add the input method” which is present on the left side.

  4. Now, you’ll click on the extension to activate it. Whenever you want to type, it will be changed to your chosen language.

 

Change Language in Google Chrome on Mac OS

For this, you will have to change the system language first at the OS level then only it’ll change Chrome’s default language on Mac OS. Follow these steps written below;

  1. You have to open System Preferences and “navigate to Language and Region”.

  2. Now, click on the “+” button at the bottom-left corner to add your preferred language. After that, select your preferred language to click on the “Add” button.

  3. Now, it’ll ask if you want to set the new language as the default language for the OS. Accept it.

  4. Then go to Chrome and see the language has changed to your preferred one.

 

Change Language in Google Chrome on Android

It is very similar to Mac OS. First, you have to change the system language on Android. Then follow the steps;

  1. Go to settings on your Android device and scroll down to the system. Then click on “Languages and Input”.

  2. Now, go to languages and tap “Add a language” to select your preferred language.

  3. After that, move the chosen language to the top by scrolling the bar on the right side.

  4. Finally, open Chrome on your device to see the chosen language in your app.

 

Change Language in Google Chrome on iPhone

Here, are the steps to be followed;

  1. Open the settings & navigate to general. Then scroll down to tap on Language and Region.

  2. Now open iPhone Language to select your choice of language.

  3. Then, accept the request to change iPhone’s language. Now open Chrome to have the browser in your choice of language.
