How To Use Google Docs Offline? Mobile and PC/Mac

Google DOcs

Google has been rolling out many updates to its online services to better satisfy its users. Google Docs by Google is an amazing service by Google that lets you create a Word document or a Powerpoint presentation on the go without having to install any special software. Users also get to save their documents linked into their  Google Drive and can be accessed anywhere on any devices with the help of one's Google Account.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that we rely on the internet a little too much. With everything now happening online, there is a good chance you’ll find no-internet connectivity and find yourself useless. Why not sit down and write? OK, but isn’t Google Docs and online service. Yes! But, you can use it even when you’re offline. Below I have covered how to run Google Docs offline on your PC/Mac or Smartphone.

How To Use Google Docs Offline on PC/MAC

Step1- Start with installing Chrome if you don’t happen to use it already. As this Google Docs Offline feature works only on Chrome browser.

How to use Google Docs offline on your Smartphone

The Smartphone version of using Google Docs Offline is rather easier compared to the PC version.

Step1- To get started, make sure you have the following app installed on your Android/iOS device- Google Drive, Docs, Slides, and sheets.

Step2- Make recent files available offline- Google Docs on Smartphones have a greater advantage. You don’t have to be online in order to use a template. Rather you could save a template on your Google Drive, make it available for offline and use it when you have no internet connectivity.

Note: All changes will sync automatically to your Drive only when you connect your device to the Internet.
