Redmi Note 6 Pro Specifications & Review- Still Worth It In 2019?

Redmi Note 6 Pro Specifications

Xiaomi earned quite a reputation in the budget-segment Smartphone market with the Redmi Note 6 Pro last year. And is with no-doubt still one of the best Smartphone at the given price point. But, with the latest Smartphone market swarming with tons of phone in the budget line. Let us find out if the Redmi Note 6 Pro is still worth the switch in 2019?

Redmi note 6 Pro is currently available in two variants i.e., 4 GB and 6 GB both with 64 GB of internal storage.

Camera

Comparing to the current camera hardware in Smartphones today, the Redmi Note 6 Pro packs some decent camera pieces. The dual 12 MP + 5 MP AI camera on the rear, is capable of capturing detail-rich shots in daylight conditions with visible crisp colors. Now, you can't expect much from the camera in low lighting conditions at this price but, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is still one of the best performing cameras under low light at the given price point. The Front's dual Rear camera setup is also decent enough with additional features like beautifying, portrait shots, etc. The edge- detection of the Redmi Note 6 Pro is still one of the best in the budget Smartphones (according to me).

Video recording is also sweet with EIS and 4K recording support.

Display

Redmi Note 6 Pro's 6.26-inch beautiful notch display has a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2280 pixels. At a single glance, the device looks absolutely stunning. The display offers vibrant and sharp colors when compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro’s display. Also, you get great viewing angles with the device.

Battery

Hmm... In terms of battery backup, Xiaomi never disappoints. The 4000 mAh huge battery offers sufficient juice to power the phone up to a day on moderate usage.

Processor

We did see Camera hardware update in the Redmi Note 6 Pro when compared to its predecessor- Redmi Note 5 Pro. However, in terms of processing hardware, we see the same old Snapdragon 636 being featured in the Redmi Note 6 Pro. Which in my opinion is sufficient enough to power a budget phone at this price point

Other Features

The 6 GB variant of the Redmi Note 6 Pro is sufficient enough for smooth day-to-day multitasking. Being a budget phone doesn't stop the Redmi Note 6 Pro from feeling and looking premium in hand. And, i would also like to point out the improved fingerprint sensor on this device compared to one we used to get in the Redmi Note 3.

Drawbacks

The Redmi Note 6 Pro has quite a few drawbacks but those few are quite major in 2019. Firstly, I get really disappointed to see mini USB in 2019. (Like come on Xiaomi its 2019 for God's Sake! We want USB-C already). Also, why can't we get earphones and fast charger with your Phone when our phone is capable of fast charging.

Final Thoughts

The Redmi Note 6 Pro is still a great phone enough to head to head against current Smartphones. But, it isn't future proof enough. The has already been overcome by devices like the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 and many more phones to come in a few months. So, If you are asking me - I wouldn't suggest you the Redmi Note 6 Pro at this point of the year.
