Xiaomi Mi Band 5: Everything We Know So Far
Rejoice! It’s not a rumor anymore. Xiaomi spearheads into the fitness tracker game with a new Mi Band tease. Subsequently, Huami itself has confirmed the Mi Band 5 is in the works and surely, the fitness tracker on a budget is expected to turn heads anytime soon in 2020.
Many budding and full-fledged tech-companies have jumped on the bandwagon of fitness trackers having colorful displays, varied tracking features such as heartbeat and sleep pattern tracking. However, these features have now become the norm for these tracking devices. If most devices already come equipped with such features, what else could Mi Band 5 have in store?
While many are anticipating new inclusions to the fitness band, only a hands-on review will help us justify its worth better. But surface-level information about Mi Band 5 has emerged so we have jotted down the necessary bits for you.
Any official statement regarding when Mi Band 5 will be released isn’t out yet. But experts have speculated it could possibly be in the mid of 2020. It’s because if you consider the launch date of Mi Band 4, which was June 2019, the company is likely to release the band in the same month of 2020.
The most awaited-for information Mi Band fans are eager to know – the price. But the saddening part is that there’s no official statement regarding the tracker’s price. Comparing the price to Mi Band 4 at the time of its release, it’s anticipated to be relatively higher than $39.99. Alternatively, the price could be lower, keeping the features and new add-ons in mind. If Mi Band 5 comes equipped with entirely novel features than its competitor Honor Band 5, then expect the price to be higher.
The appearance is the major concern of Mi fans. As most fitness bands offered by Honor and Xiaomi alike have similar designs, so we can surely get an imaginative glimpse of what Mi Band 5 would look like. Rumor has it that Mi Band 5 will have an appearance similar to Xiaomi’s very own Hey+. The display interface is also expected to be larger and in full color.
Now on to the core features of the band. Of course, with the Mi Band 4 just out in 2019, the newer iteration won’t be too heavily fixated on the prior inclusions. The changes, however, aren’t officially announced. The reports so far have only mentioned device display and a probable inclusion of ECG support which Mi predecessors didn’t have.
Just like the entire Xiaomi Mi Band range, the device needs both internet and Bluetooth to connect to a smartphone and access the complete suite of features. So make sure you are connected to a stable internet and if not, just get in touch with Spectrum customer service to acquire stable connectivity. Other than that, let’s see how fairly it contends with Honor Band 5 and what new features the upcoming band unfolds. We’ll keep you updated with the news to come when the day of its release draws closer.
