AMD Introduced All New Processors At Computex 2024

AMD Launching All New Processors At Computex 2024

The world witnessed the Computex 2024 event on Monday, 3 June 2024, in Taipei, Taiwan. At this event, the American multinational corporation AMD unveiled the latest AMD Ryzen 9000 and AI 300 series processors powered with Zen 5 CPU architecture and XDNA 2 GPU NPU architecture. These are third-generation Ryzen AI processors for gaming PCs.

AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series

The Ryzen AI 300 series includes XDNA 2 NPU, with up to 50 TOPs (trillions of operations per second) of performance, a 12-core CPU (central processing unit), and a new GPU (graphics processing unit) based on RDNA 3.5 architecture on AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.

AMD’s third-generation processors come with a dedicated NPU (neural processing unit) with up to 50 TOPs of processing power for AI experiences like Copilot+, real-time translation, live caption and co-creation.

Another processor, the Ryzen AI 9 365, offers the same AI performance as AI 9 HX 370 but has 10 CPU cores. This will power the upcoming Copilot+Pcs, which requires a processor with a minimum AI performance of 40 TOPs. Compared to Qualcomm X Elite, Intel Lunak Lake AI processors, and the Apple M4, the latest Ryzen AI processor is more capable, with up to 50 TOPs performance.

The new laptops powered by Ryzen AI 300 series processors will be available in July 2024.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Series

AMD Ryzen 9000 series includes the Ryzen 9 9950X processor with 16 cores/32 threads, 5.7 GHz clock speed. According to sources, the Ryzen 9 9950X has a higher graphics bandwidth than Intel Core i9-14900K. This processor has AI acceleration capability with up to 56% higher performance and 23% more frame rate during gaming.

The new Ryzen 9000 series processors are based on the AM5 platform and will be backed by PCIe 5.0 and DDR5. They will have 16% instruction per core improvement compared to AMD Zen 4 processors.
